18 Health and Wellness Apps Every Modern Woman Needs on Their Radar

Make your life that much easier.

Ladies, we know you are busy. We know you are time poor. We know you are constantly trying to juggle a million tasks at once and rarely take time to focus on you. It is very well known that health and wellness is continuously bumped to the bottom of the to-do list for Aussie women. A 2020 study by Jean Hailes into the health needs and behaviours of women across Australia reflects this lack of selfcare by stating 31.7% of women aged 25-44 did not have enough time to attend health check appointments.

We need to remind ourselves that we should not only prioritise our self care and wellness just one week every year; it should be implemented into our everyday routine. So to help every modern woman take control of their health and wellbeing, we have pulled together a list of the absolute must-have apps and services you need to know so you can prioritise you!

Youly

Digital Healthcare

A 2020 study by Jean Hailes also found that one in four women aged between 18-24 did not know where to access health services, with a further one in four women aged between 25-44 revealing that they often couldn’t even get a doctor’s appointment when they needed one.

To cater to the busy and time poor woman, Youly offers Aussie women access to GP consults, prescriptions and treatments, all without needing to leave the home. It works in three easy steps: online registration, a text-based consultation with a GP or pharmacist (dependent on the treatment you are seeking), and fast and discreet treatment delivery right to your doorstep. It also offers the country’s first ever morning after pill delivery service, as well as the prescription and delivery of the contraceptive pill and NuvaRing, and HSV-1 Cold Sores, HSV-2 Herpes Simplex Virus, sleep, and thrush treatments.

Youly empowers women with fast, convenient, and discreet access to medication through safe and innovative online solutions. Say goodbye to those time-consuming, awkward, and sometimes confronting conversations at the pharmacy or with your doctor, and hello to this hassle-free online healthcare platform.

Designed by an endometriosis sufferer who was fed up with the medical system’s inability to provide answers and relief, the app offers expert support and personalised recommendations for each user depending on their specific goal such as reducing pain, enhancing fertility, or improving mental health, taking them on a journey towards living well with endo.

Supermarket Swap

Supermarket Support

The Supermarket Swap App was designed to simplify the shopping process to allow shoppers to easily search, shop, share and save on additive and preservative free food from Australia’s largest supermarkets. As well as an extensive additive database, the app now also contains over 2,000 additive and preservative free products from Australia’s largest supermarket.

“As a busy mum, I often skipped reading the ingredient list on products in the supermarket. I did a quick scan of the sodium and sugar content, but I often found the ingredient list too hard to decipher due to the presence of multiple additive names and codes,” says founder Nabula. “Deciding to reduce the amount additives my young family consumed was easy. I started to swap products I was buying in the supermarket, with products that only contained real and recognisable ingredients.”

The App has also expanded to include a meal plan template and there are now 200 recipes to streamline your meal planning and make it easier to feed your family.

Wable is a new dating app designed for the neurodivergent community, to help people living with autism find love.

Wable co-founder Holly Fowler said the app’s name stood for ‘willing and able’ and contains tools designed to help initiate conversation.

There is a portion of the app called the toolbox,” she explains. “Inside the toolbox users can find a question wheel which has some conversation starters which I think, eases the pressure.”

Star of ABC’s program Love on the Spectrum, Michael Theo, is the ambassador of the app and says it’s like Tinder or Bumble, but specifically for neurodivergent people.

“I believe this new dating app called Wable is really important because a lot of people on the spectrum get ignored and overlooked in social situations,” Michael said.
